Buses

In Göttingen buses represent the city's public transport. There are 19 bus lines and nearly 500 bus stops, which connect different parts of the town and bring you to its outskirts (Bovenden and Rosdorf). There are also eight night bus lines which operate Friday to Sunday between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.
Public transport is free of charge for students of the University of Göttingen, holding valid student card (semester ticket). The service is provided by the Göttinger Verkehrsbetriebe (GöVB).
For those who are not entitled to the free of charge bus service, there is a variety of tickets to choose from: from single-ride to 4- and 8-ride tickets, over to unlimited 1-day, 7-day or monthly passes. These can be purchased on every bus, at a number of shops and tobacconists, or at the GöVB Service Centre (Kundenzentrum der GöVB) at Markt 3, near the Old Town Hall.

A regular ticket costs 2,10 Euro (Bovenden and Rosdorf 2,40), also for the night buses.
