Teaching German

You want to give lessons on the German language? Then earn your qualification at the Department of Intercultural German Studies for German as a Foreign Language. Participants in the module entitled "Intercultural German Studies / German as a Foreign Language" will acquire the basic skills in how to teach languages. An interdisciplinary practical module prepares advanced students for their work whilst providing subject-related support. You can improve your skills in teaching German as a foreign language, learn to identify areas where fostering is needed, understand the complex psychosocial living circumstances of refugees and find out about how to deal with the legal and socio-political infrastructures and language policy constructs currently in place. The practical courses are held in cooperation with the Integration Centre of Lower Saxony in Friedland, in language learning classes, among others, or as language coaching in the accompaniment of refugees at the University.
