Die aktuelle, globale Situation erschwert es Studierenden ins Ausland zu reisen. Als Antwort darauf bieten wir Studierenden der Universität Göttingen und Partneruniversitäten auf der ganzen Welt die Möglichkeit sich virtuell zu treffen. Mit "Göttingen Intercultural Connections Virtual Exchange" bekommen Sie authentische interkulturelle Erfahrung und lernen und diskutieren zusammen mit internationalen Studierenden z.B. über Kulturen, Stereotype oder Campusleben!

In diesem interaktiven Workshop haben Studierende die Gelegenheit ihre Fähigkeiten zu interkultureller Kommunikation und Online-Kollaboration auszubauen, zu trainieren und unter Beweis zu stellen:

• kulturelles Bewusstsein fördern
• aktives Zuhören und Empathie trainieren
• Präsentieren üben

Der Workshop hilft Studierenden sich auf einen späteren Auslandsaufenthalt vorzubereiten und ihre Berufschancen zu erhöhen. Die Leistungen der Studierenden werden in einem digitalen Portfolio präsentiert. Studierende bekommen ein Teilnahmezertifikat und können 3 ECTS/Credits erwerben (Modul SK.IKG-IKK.09).

The research field of phylogenomics comprises the utilization of genome and transcriptome data for the inference of phylogenetic trees. The module deals with the situation in world agricultural markets and the interventions of agricultural and trade interventions of agricultural and trade policy in these markets, based on an introduction to the theory of international trade. The students will learn about the most important models for explaining the international trade of agricultural products. By the end of the course, they are able to expose populist arguments against free trade. They can assess whether there are reasons to deviate from the postulate of free trade in agricultural products, e.g. to reward the positive externalities of agriculture, secure food supplies, prevent ecological and social dumping, or correct distorted world markets for agricultural products.

Contents: Blended learning module; presentation of the most important pests and diseases of the most important tropical crop plants: symptoms, life cycles and plant health management (eg. in rice, maize, cacao, coffee, bananas). Additional crops may be included according to students´ preferences and practical experience. Introduction to relevant international data banks and networks. Use of scientific videos on selected topics of crop protection in the tropics and basic training to create own videos.
Objectives: Students are able to recognize pests and diseases of tropical crops as treated in this course. They critically evaluate scientific and non-scientific publications on crop protection in the tropics. Dieser Workshop richtet sich an Studierende, die bereits über akademische Schreiberfahrungen verfügen, sich auf ihre Bachelor- oder Masterarbeit vorbereiten und dabei mehrsprachig arbeiten (möchten). Behandelt wird der gesamte Schreibprozess einer Abschlussarbeit mit Fokus auf Nutzung der eigenen Mehrsprachigkeit als Ressource für das akademische Schreiben. Das beinhaltet u.a. Zeitmanagement, Umgang mit wissenschaftlichen Quellen und das Strukturieren, Verfassen und Überarbeiten von Texten.
