Public Panel Discussion: Guardians of Democracy and Inclusion?

How can Europe’s universities protect democracy and inclusion in challenging times? This will be discussed at Freie Universität Berlin (FU) on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at the Henry Ford Building (Lecture Hall B), Garystr. 35. Andrea D. Bührmann, Director of the Göttingen Institute for Democracy Research, will be part of the panel.

Focus areas will beresponding to attacks on democratic values, academic freedom and DEI, the role of European university alliances, and pathways to greater autonomy, participation, and transformation.
