Mobility for the Purpose of Teaching (STA)

What does mobility for the purpose of teaching mean?

Erasmus+ funds guest lecturers from European partner institutions who have a valid Erasmus University Charter. Through their stay, guest lecturers should strengthen the European dimension at the guest institutions, supplement their subject offerings and relay their specialty knowledge to students who are unable or do not wish to go abroad.

Whenever possible, the development of joint study programmes at the partner university, as well as the exchange of teaching content and methods should play a roll. Even personnel from foreign companies and organisations can be invited for the purposes of teaching at German universities.

What is required of me?

Academic stays within the European Union must last between two days to 7 days (not including travel time) depending on the inter-institutional Agreement. A minimum of 8 teaching hours per week (or any shorter period of stay) has to be respected. If the mobility lasts longer than one week, the minimum number of teaching hours for an incomplete week shall be proportional to the duration of that week. Mobilities between > 7 days up to 2 months can only be granted under certain circumstances and as an exception
