Leander Kallas

Current Position

Curator of the GEOROC Database within the DIGIS project (Digital Geochemistry Infrastructure for GEOROC 2.0) in the department of Geochemistry and Isotope Geology, Georg-August-University Göttingen.
Responsibilities include data harvesting from the geochemical literature, data entry into an SQL database, development and testing of standardised data entry & anaylsis tools as well as the new web interface for GEOROC 2.0.

Research Interests

  • High-temperature geochemistry and isotope geochemistry, petrology, mineralogy, cosmochemistry

  • Geochemistry and evolution of volcanic systems

  • Geochemical evolution of the crust-mantle systems of the early Earth

  • Tools: major and trace element geochemistry, stable and radiogenic isotope geochemistry
