Lecture-Performance "Hate Radio"
In addition to the presentations, the conference
THE SOUNDTRACK OF CONFLICT: THE ROLE OF MUSIC IN RADIO BROADCASTING IN WARTIME AND IN CONFLICT SITUATIONS
will hold a lecture-performance, introducing the theatre project „Hate Radio“ by Milo Rau and Jens Dietrich (International Institute of Political Murder).
The theatre group specialises in performing key events of modern political history.
The play “Hate Radio” stages the role of radio broadcast in the Rwandan genocide in 1994 by means of re-enacting a radio show of the Rwandan radio station “Radio-Télévision Libre des Mille Collines” during the time of the on-going genocide.
The presentation of the theatre project, which will include a live performance of excerpts from the script, will take place in the radio studio of StadtRadio Göttingen.
The presentation is open to the public.
Further details will be published here soon.
