The research group of Dr. Matthias Otte, Department of Chemistry at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, is looking to fill the position of a
(PhD position in Supramolecular Catalysis)
with 50% (alternatively: 67%) of the regular working hours (currently 39,8 hours per week) with a limited contract of at least 3 years. This position should be filled as soon as possible. The salary level follows E 13 TV-L.
We are looking for a highly-motivated candidate to work on the bio-inspired oxidation of organic substrates that should be catalyzed by supramolecular cages. Those cages offer first-row transition metal centers as active sites. Besides their application in catalysis, spectroscopic characterization of the catalysts and possible intermediates will be part of the project.
The successful candidate must have a master degree in chemistry and good communication skills in English. Furthermore, the candidate should have knowledge in coordination chemistry and inorganic and organic synthesis. A pro is first experience in small molecule activation, spectroscopic techniques and/or homogenous catalysis.
