| Beschreibung | Have you ever considered making your ideas and research available to a wider public or working together with societal actors on a broader research agenda? Are you looking to have a greater impact on society by opening up your research and analyses to include experts outside the university? Public engagement is at the core of the Science with and for Society Program (SwafS) in Horizon 2020. Seeking to develop innovative ways for connecting science and society at national and EU levels, the Swafs program’s specific objective is to build effective cooperation between science and society, to recruit new talent for science and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility. Research advisors from the EU Office, Lisa Grow, Claudia Sültmann and Christian Schöpper, will present an overview of many opportunities provided by the SwafS program to conduct research and build new cooperation networks beyond the ivory tower. Topics will include the five strategic orientations of the 2018‐2020 work program as well as the concept Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in its intent to enable all societal actors – researchers, citizens, policy‐makers, business, third sector organizations, etc. to work together over entire research and innovation processes. We will follow with a praxis‐oriented section in which you can begin to redesign your research ideas into a viable concept for a SwafS project proposal. |
