| Beschreibung | The EU Office of the University of Göttingen will offer an event on 21 January 2020 with the title "European Research Council (ERC) - EU-Funding for Advanced Researchers". The event will begin at 10 a.m. and it will end around twelve o'clock/ noon. It will take place in the meeting room SR 3.101 at Von-Siebold-Straße 2, 37075 Göttingen. The European Research Council’s mission is to promote the highest quality research in Europe by offering ERC-funding schemes that are “investigator-driven” or “bottom-up.” ERC projects allow researchers a great degree of flexibility and substantial funding to pursue new directions in all fields of research. In an open competition ERC grants are awarded to projects headed by starting to established researchers, irrespective of their origins. The sole criterion is scientific excellence. In this session, research advisors from the EU Office at the University of Göttingen will shed light on the ERC-funding schemes for ERC Advanced Grants and ERC Proof of Concept Grants, give details on how to draw up a proposal, and explain how to become an ERC expert. In addition, Prof. Dr. Klaus-Armin Nave, Dept. of Neurogenetics, MPI Experimental Medicine, will offer us insight based on his firsthand experiences as an ERC Advanced Grantee and as an ERC Expert Reviewer. Researchers of all academic disciplines with at least 12 years of experience after receiving a PhD are invited to attend. This session is limited to 12 participants. Please register at the latest by Monday, 15 January 2020. The presentations will be held in English. |
