M.INC.2001: English title: Internship semester
Learning outcome
The students absolve a 12-week internship at either one or two organizations of nature conservation, preferably abroad.
The aim of the internship semester is to carry out an applied project in nature conservation including data collection and analyses.
Under professional guidance the students shall gain experience in a practical project.
This internship will broaden their knowledge and provide experience in working intensively on a specific conservation topic and the possibility to specialize on research interests.
Courses and examinations
Internship at an organization of nature conservations (min. 12 weeks duration). The topic of the internship needs to be permitted by the module coordinator.
Examination
- Internship Report (max. 25 pages)
- Prerequisite: Completion of an internship for at least 12 weeks in a full-time position; Handing in an original letter of the internship organization confirming the completion of the internship including duration, time, place and tasks.
Core skills
The students have worked successfully in a conservation project of own choice. They achieved the knowledge neccessary to assist in this project, and they are able to present data and results. They did not only learn to analyze their own data but also to evaluate the whole project in contemporary standards of conservation work.
