SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS
In the center of my current scientific interests is nucleocytoplasmic transport of proteins. In the future I would like to focus on structural studies of interactions between cargo, receptor, and nuclear pore complex. I am also interested in endo- and exocytosis, especially in the context of neurons functioning, and would like to study mechanisms of membrane fusion, particularly the role of protein-protein interactions in it. Cell signaling, developmental neurobiology, studies of cytoskeleton, system biology are also in the field of my scientific interests, and I would like to get some experience in bioinformatics, especially in using it for prediction and modeling of protein-protein interactions.
