- 08/2012 – 08/2014: “Benzoylformate decarboxylase and the annotation problem.” Laboratory of M.J. McLeish at IUPUI. Project focused on the incorrect functional annotations of several ThDP-dependent enzymes
- 05/2012 – 08/2012: "Evolution of the nitrogen cycle over the formation of a saltwater marsh ecosystem.” Laboratory of Behzad Mortazavi at DISL. Project attempted to quantify changes in nutrient flux due to presence of various levels of marsh vegetation.
