SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

While I am interested in a wide range of topics in the life sciences, I find the highly accurate and specialized machinery for defense of the immune system quite fascinating. Also I would like to learn more about proteomic research methods, such as instrumental methods for protein identification, fingerprinting and eventually sequencing (different types of mass-spectrometry methods, MS/MS, etc.), determination of 3D structure of proteins, molecular methods for determining protein-protein and other types of macromolecular interaction (different hybrid systems, surface plasmon resonance, etc.). I am sure that this program will provide me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and discover new and captivating fields of the biological sciences.
