The Faculty of Chemistry at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen welcomes applications for

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (f/m/d) (2 years, 100% E13 TV-L)


in the German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded Research Training Group 2455 “BENCh – Benchmark Experiments in Numerical quantum Chemistry” at the Computational Chemistry and Biochemistry group. The regular working hours will be full-time (currently 39.8 hours per week) with a limited contract to September 30, 2026. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L. The application window will be open up to 24.07.2024. The earliest starting date is 01.10.2024 and the contract will last until 30.09.2026.

Your profile
• you hold a PhD degree in Theoretical Chemistry or a closely related field of research,
• are proficient in English and/or in German,
• have experience with international exchanges and project collaborations.

The advertised position is a joint call from the Institute of Physical Chemistry and the DFG-funded Research Training Group 2455 “Benchmark Experiments for Numerical Quantum Chemistry”. The topics covered in the network span a variety of solution and gas phase spectroscopies, molecular beam techniques as well as synthesis. The research coworker will engage in independent research, support of the RTG students (offer of specialised courses, support in the use of numerical simulation
approaches), planning and development of blind challenge initiatives as well as processing and management of joint experimental/simulation data.
