Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

Funding until 2019

  • Kommunaler Innenentwicklungsfonds (municipal development funds)
The aim of the project is to examine legal and current requirements for the establishment of voluntary and self-organized municipal development funds and to develop pilot studies as well as two lab experiment simulations to further develop the funds. To be able to account for the different conditions of shrinking regions and states in Germany, we plan to carry out a structured dialogue with many of the participating communities from different regions across Germany. The experiments with municipal project partners will ultimately lead to an impact analysis of the community development funds.

  • Consumer behaviour and innovations for sustainable chemistry (KInChem) on the example of products with problematic ingredients
The purpose of the project is to promote the enforcement of "sustainable" products on the market, which are made without the use of problematic ingredients. For this purpose, we use the example of the chemical regulation REACH's deficits and gaps in terms of consumer policy approaches that previously related to the "provision" of sustainability-related product information. With the inclusion of various agents, communication and use barriers should be removed.
