SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am continuously amazed by the complexity of biological systems and the joy of solving the riddle of how they work is what drives me as a scientist. During my Bachelor's thesis I was researching a signalling pathway controlling synaptic signal strength, and I would certainly enjoy to continue working in this field of research. However, even more fascinating than the thematic context of molecular neuroscience was the general concept of signalling molecules acting together to form complex regulatory systems. In the future, I would love to explore systems like this in greater detail, and perhaps in other contexts as well.
