SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

By studying molecular biology, it is possible to unravel the basic mechanisms that drive the human body. I am especially interested in immunology, particularly autoimmunity and inflammation, to understand the intrinsic reactions to pathogens or diseases. Furthermore, the growing possibilities of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering to repair damaged tissue, either by stimulating regeneration mechanisms or by supplying artificial replacements, fascinate me.
