Functions and Services of Biodiversity
Welcome
International Scientific Conference
‘Functions and Services of Biodiversity’
University of Göttingen, June 2011, 20-22
"Functions and services of biodiversity" is a core area of recent research in ecology and land use.
Biodiversity is closely related to energy and matter cycles of natural and utilized ecosystems.
A thorough understanding of these relationships is therefore a prerequisite for the valuation of biodiversity functions and services and for a sustainable land use that meets the requirements of a growing mankind in a changing world.
The aim of the conference is
• to summarize and discuss recent major findings,
• to identify upcoming research fields and research priorities,
• and to develop joint viewpoints.
There will be three half-day oral sessions with invited top-class keynote lecturers and poster presentations with voluntary contributions attached to the oral sessions.
