SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

As a Physician, I think molecular and cellular knowledge should be at human health service, but also a complete basic understanding must precede the clinical application, for that reason, I want to increase my knowledge in molecular and cell biology to acquire the necessary tools to develop my own research. I am interested in macrophage cell biology because their versatility makes it an accurate model to study cellular functions (e.g., vesicle trafficking, signal transduction, migration and cellular adhesion, etc) in different pathological and non-pathological events.
