Project "Question-Conditional Link in Natural Languages"
My research explores the syntactic and semantic relationship between conditionals and questions across natural languages. A key focus is the recurring presence of the same morphological element, such as if in English, in both embedded questions and conditionals. This polysemy is not limited to English; it is observed in numerous typologically diverse languages. The aim of this cross-linguistic study is to investigate whether this overlap is merely coincidental or reflects a deeper, universal connection between the two structures
