Milan, born in 1999, commenced his studies in the field of Chemistry in 2017 at the Georg-August-University Göttingen. He received his Bachelor's degree (with Honours) in 2021 after working in the labs of Prof. Dr Sebastian Kruss on the photophysical properties and covalent modification of a novel near-infrared fluorescent nanomaterial. He then continued his studies with a Master's programme in Chemistry during which he went to the University of Manchester as part of the Erasmus Programme, where he worked in the labs of Dr Ashok Keerthi and Prof. Sir Andre Geim on 2D covalent frameworks and graphene heterostructures. After a short research internship, he decided to stay with Prof. Simeths's group to obtain his MSc. degree. Here, he now works on the synthesis and characterisation of fluorescently labelled and photocaged natural products as part of a collaboration with Prof. Dr Ivan Bogeski from the Institute of Cardiovascular Physiology in Göttingen.
