Research on Online Focus Groups accepted at Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS)

In times of social distancing and work-from-home, video conferencing has become an essential part of many people's lives. The possibility to communicate digitally with several people who are globally distributed is also interesting for researchers. They can use online focus groups to conduct more and deeper discussions with a broad range of participants on current topics in information systems. In this conference paper, we examine the challenges that arise when planning and conducting online focus groups. In order to address these challenges, we propose solutions based on our lessons learned from conducting seven online focus groups.
