How to use the student account for new students

Scope of the student account:

The student account can be used at all terminals of the studIT, in GoeMobile (Wifi of the university), in the wired notebook network and in the LRC. Usage is free of charge and the account will be deleted upon completion of your studies.

Students of the faculties of economic and social sciences can also use their student account to log in to PCs in the computing center.

Activation of the account:

Before using your account for the first time it needs to be activated and the "Chipkartenstelle" (see bottom for location and office hours).

An activation in the computing center of the faculties of economic and social sciences (WiSo-Rechenzentrum) is not possible!

Login and usage in the Computing Center:

Open the login dialog with the keys Strg-Alt-Entf (ctrl-alt-del). Then use your username and password of the student account. The login domain is UG-STUDENT.

Change your password:

Your password can be changed via the self-serve service:

Click on: https://ecampus.uni-goettingen.de/ and login with your student account.
Click on the upper slide "SB/UniVZ" and then "Passwort ändern" (change password).


After the change it can take up to an hour until the new password is usable everywhere.

In case you forgot your password, you can get a new one at the "Chipkartenstelle".
