Admission to the GAUSS doctoral studies in chemistry

To be admitted to the PhD studies in chemistry, you first need the promise of supervision from your future supervisors on the thesis committee, with whom you will also discuss your research topic. For the formal admission into the PhD studies, the following forms must be filled in and submitted to the Dean's Office:

• Application for admission to the PhD studies in chemistry
• Declaration of the PhD Student

Additionally, you have to submit the following documents:

• CV (German or English)
• Final Certificate(s)
• Proof of sufficient knowledge of the German or English language (if applicable)
• Short report about the thesis project (if applicable)

Please note that you have to be enrolled during the whole time of your PhD study.



If you are planning to conduct your PhD studies outside of the Faculty of Chemistry (e.g. in an industry company or at a Max-Planck Institute), you must apply for this using the following form:
