"Material utilization of low-valued beech wood and low dimensioned wood selections from plantations with short rotation for the development of marketable sandwich- flake boards for the wood manufacturing industry"

    Description:

In the context of the subproject of BMBF- joint research project BEST “Regional Bioenergy”, the cluster “Innovation and Optimizing- cascade utilization (10-K)” pursues the scientifically intention of the accomplishment of recovery-oriented analyses for the material utilization of low-valued beech wood and low dimensioned wood selections from plantations with short rotation. Within his project shavings from beech wood and/or wood selections from plantations with short rotation are combined with spruce shavings and with inclusion of commercial bonding agents. These shaving-combinations should be produced to salable sandwich- flake boards for the wood manufacturing industry. Afterward, analyses of the products should give information about the marketable of the soft-hard wood sandwich boards and hence they should demonstrate an ideal and cascade-shaped usage of the wood with maximized added value.
