Theoretical Linguistics

The junior research group "Theoretical Linguistics" is researching the question how, on the one hand, linguistic form influences the computation of discourse structure and how, on the other hand, discourse structure influences the interpretation of linguistic utterances.

Some of the projects of the research group involve a theory of how utterances raise and answer question, presupposition projection in discourse, the interpretation of temporal connectives and discourse particles.
