Recognition of Studies Completed in Germany and Abroad

The following procedures should be followed for all programmes existing at the Faculty:

I) Recognition of studies after a change of university or programme
Please collect all relevant documents and present them at the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Chemistry. A recognition document will be created, its type depending on whether you need individual certificates or a (partial) degree recognised. You will be told the name of the person in charge of the actual recognition process. After the recognition, you will be issued a recognition certificate at the Dean’s Office; based on this document, the examination office will enter your data into the FlexNow examination management system.

II) Recognition of studies completed during a semester abroad

  • You should check with the Erasmus representative or the Dean of Studies which courses etc. are suitable for recognition prior to departing for your semester abroad.
  • If necessary he or she will consult the head of the examination board regarding the possibility of recognition.
  • The usual procedure is for you to sign a learning agreement specifying the achievements/credits you are going to complete abroad.
  • After your return you will take your documents to your contact person in order to have your studies recognised. You will then be issued a recognition certificate, based on which the examination office enters your data into the FlexNow examination management system.

  • III) Recognition of modules completed in another subject/at another faculty in Göttingen
Please collect all relevant documents and present them at the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Chemistry, where a recognition document will be created. You will be told the name of the person in charge of the actual recognition process. After the recognition has been granted, you will be issued a recognition certificate at the Dean’s Office; based on this certificate, the examination office will enter your data into the FlexNow examination management system.

Note to students in the 2-subject Bachelor’s programme and in the Master of Education programme:
Concerning the recognition of studies in your second subject, please contact the person or office responsible for recognition at the respective other faculty.
