Research interests
I do research within the field of biogeochemical cycles in natural ecosystems (forests, croplands, grasslands) with a focus on the carbon cycle. I have done work on carbon dynamics in soils, effects of moisture and temperature on decomposition processes, belowground connections with aboveground processes, and modelling of carbon stocks and fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems at site to regional scales. Currently I am interested in understanding the effects of land use change, forest management and agricultural practices in carbon fluxes and storage potential, especially at the soil level.
