S. Annette Witherspoon, M.A.

S. Annette Witherspoon worked as a Research Associate in the Transdisciplinary Project "Diversity Turn in Land Use Science: the importance of Social Diversity for sustainable land use innovations using the example of vanilla farmers in Madagascar".

Before joining the institute in 2016, Ms. Witherspoon worked as Research Assistant in the Department of Social Sciences at the Theologische Hochschule Friedensau, Germany where she also completed in 2013 her master's degree in International Social Sciences. Her Master's degree project titled "Post War Reintegration: the new lives of female ex-combatants" focused on the (re)integration experiences of former female combatants after the Liberian civil war. Ms. Witherspoon also worked with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) (Adventist Development and Relief Agency and Mercy Corps) as a development consultant providing research, planning, design and implementation support for several development and humanitarian projects in West Africa (Mali, Burkina Faso and Liberia).
