Activities at the 28th European Conference on Information Systems

The Chair of Interorganizational Information Systems participated in the 28th European Conference on Information Systems in two ways:

  • Laura Schulze presented the Research in Progress Paper "Communicate Online, Purchase Offline (COPO): How Can the Implementation of Instant Messaging Strengthen Customer Relationships with Retail Stores?" in the track "Social Media - Digital Work, Digital Life". The research project provides insight into the results of a field experiment in which different ways of using instant messaging were implemented and tested at a retail store. The preliminary results indicate that the communication of social benefits is superior to the communication of economic benefits which include monetary benefits.

  • Manuel Trenz was responsible for the track "Digital Customer Experiences and Interactions" as track chair and session chair. In three sessions, a total of 15 research papers in this field were presented and discussed.

We would like to thank the organizers for successfully running this first virtual AIS conference! Despite our passion for digitalization, we hope to be able to participate in Marrakesh next year.
