SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am interested in various areas of molecular biology, particularly in the potential of iPS cells and how cells of a complex organism work together in a coordinated and regulated way. In this regard, I find the role of epigenetics very exciting. Furthermore, the effects of even small misregulations at different levels or even small mutations in the genome are very captivating. I am particularly interested in topics with medical relevance, which include molecular oncology and regenerative biology. Nevertheless, other areas of basic research also contribute to understanding biomedical topics. I would like to participate in understanding these molecular and biomedical aspects and use this knowledge to contribute to drug and therapy development.
