Ilze Lāce was born in Riga, Latvia in 1994. In 2013 she moved to the UK to obtain her MSci (2018) degree at the University of Glasgow. During her studies she was an intern for 1 year at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd in Basel, Switzerland where she worked on Development of Potential Drug Candidates for the Treatment of Neurological Diseases. Her MSci (2018) project was done in the group of Dr. Emily Draper on Dextran Additives for Perylene Bisimide Self-Assembled Structures. Afterwards she moved to Germany to pursue her PhD studies in December 2019 at the group of Prof. Dr. Ulf Diederichsen working on Transmembrane Peptide Models with Photocleavable Staples to Probe SNARE-Induced Membrane Fusion and is continuing this project in the group of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Nadja A. Simeth.
