Content:
When working with students, the supervision of bachelor or master theses is of great importance. As a supervisor, you have the complex task of supporting students academically, providing feedback on content and methodology, offering structure in some situations and taking a step back in others.
This short workshop is about getting to know and critically discussing strategies that you can use to supervise (and evaluate) student work in a structured way along the stages of academic work.

Learning objectives:
In the short workshop, participants will have the opportunity to

  • identify stages in the supervision of student theses (with a view to their respective subject context) and become aware of supervision-intense stages during a thesis project;
  • to reflect on your own supervision activities and the underlying expectations about the academic integrity and methodological requirements for theses in your subject;
  • to develop or rethink assessment criteria that you apply as supervisor during the process as much as whilst preparing thesis reports.

Venue:
Online: you will receive information on the meeting details before the workshop.

  • Input
