Segment Anything

In this demonstration, you can use sample images to separate specific objects on images from others by tapping a pixel. This process is called segmentation

What is segmentation?

Segmentation is a pixel-by-pixel form of classification. Here, localization is performed by having the model determine the location of a corresponding object by outlining the object's boundary. When a point in the image is marked, the underlying technology scans all pixels in the image to identify those that belong to the same object or region. Complex algorithms based on neural networks are used for this purpose.

Why is this useful?

Segmentation makes it easier to detect and analyze individual objects or areas in an image. This can be useful in many applications, from medical imaging where it is important to identify specific tissue types, to autonomous vehicles that need to detect objects on the road.
