Research

In our research, we focus on topics in the areas of entrepreneurship, digitalization & management and strategic management. Our research is regularly funded by third parties, such as the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the Dr. Werner Jackstädt-Stiftung.

Entrepreneurship:
In the area of entrepreneurship, we particularly research the circumstances that lead to companies being founded as a sideline (so-called "hybrid entrepreneurship"). We also look at the consequences of sideline start-ups, for example for the founder, for the company founded or for other stakeholders.

Digitalization & Management:
In the area of digitalization and management, we research how companies can successfully implement and use digital technologies in their business. Here we are particularly interested in the difficulties that can arise in the digitalization of companies and what this means for the successful management of companies.

Strategic Management:
In the area of strategic management, we research how companies cooperate with each other within the framework of strategic alliances in order to learn from each other and generate innovations. Here, for example, we look at the role of geographical distance between cooperating companies, how the intensity of competition between the partner companies influences the cooperation and the extent to which the initial design of the alliance agreement affects the further cooperation.
