Hi, I’m Printhajini Premachandran, a research associate at the University of Göttingen with an interdisciplinary background in agricultural sciences and data-driven analysis. I earned my B.Sc. in Agricultural Science from the University of Jaffna (Sri Lanka) and completed my M.Sc. in Sustainable International Agriculture jointly at the University of Göttingen / University of Kassel.
During my master’s studies, I worked as a student assistant at the University of Göttingen across several departments, including Soil Physics, Plant Nutrition, Tropical Plant Production Management, and Biogeochemistry in Agroecosystems, and I also supported as a student tutor in the Faculty of Agriculture. Before moving to Germany, I gained academic teaching and laboratory experience at the University of Jaffna, where I served as a Temporary Assistant Lecturer (Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture) and as a Demonstrator (Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology).
In the StratOekoS project, my work focuses on analyzing phenotypic and genomic data to study genotype-by-housing environment (G×E) interactions in pigs. I use reproducible workflows in statistical software to generate robust evidence that can support breeding strategies for organic production systems, and I aim to communicate these findings through peer-reviewed publications and conferences.
