Across four sessions, participants presented and discussed cutting-edge research on innovation and talent allocation, trade and the environment, trade and development, and firms and development. Topics ranged from technology-driven human capital formation and offshoring to environmental effects of trade wars, internal migration, and the role of firms in sustaining international trade under sanctions. Short presentations followed by focused discussions ensured a high level of engagement and constructive feedback, resulting in productive academic dialogue and the strengthening of existing research networks. In addition to the formal sessions, dedicated time for bilateral meetings encouraged in-depth conversations and the exploration of future collaboration opportunities. A key highlight of the workshop was the city tour organized for the Chinese guests, which allowed them to experience Göttingen beyond the conference rooms. Participants enjoyed the city’s historic center, its long academic tradition, and notable landmarks associated with the University of Göttingen. This blend of rigorous academic work and cultural exchange created a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere, making the workshop a memorable and successful event for all involved.
