Peter J. Bräunlein is an anthropologist and religious scholar. Since October 1, 2019, he is a researcher at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology in the BMBF research project "From 'bare necessities' to 'promising things': On the materiality of (forced) migration".
The main research topics of the project are affect and object, promising things, migration research in material turn, materiality of migration and religion, migration issues.
