The application deadline for a stay in the winter semester 2024/25 or summer semester 2025 is the 31.January 2024.

For Bachelor students, departure is possible from the 3rd semester. For Master's students, departure is possible from the 1st semester.

For all applications, you have the option of specifying up to five universities of your choice.
Please refer to your first choice in your letter of motivation.

Göttingen International Central Exchange Opportunities for Europe (ENLIGHT)

To apply for a central exchange place in the ENLIGHT network, please use this platform. Tips for the application


Attention! When applying, please note whether the exchange places at the partner university correspond to your respective study level (BA/MA). You will find the relevant information in the overview tables of the partner universities. A list of all current calls for proposals can be found at here .

On this page as well as in this document you will find useful information on how to apply. Please read them carefully before completing the online application.

In the online application you will have to upload a form (to be found in the online application) in which the following questions have to be answered in complete sentences (continuous text):
  • Please describe your personal motivation why you are applying for an Erasmus+ Key Action 131 grant.
  • Please describe your professional motivation why you would like to study abroad.
  • Do you have an idea how you want to finance your stay abroad and how high the cost of living is in the destination country? What sources of information did you use, for example? A simple outline is sufficient. Please do not disclose personal financial circumstances
You will also need the following documents:
  • curriculum vitae
  • FlexNow printout with average grade
  • Language certificate (FlexNow printout, ZESS certificate or other) (The required language level of the partner university must be available at the time of application.

Eligibility criteria

Please note the following two points when completing the application form, as these cannot be applied for retrospectively. Social Top up participants "Fewer Opportunities" and Top up "Green Travel"

Language certificate

Please note that sufficient language skills must be demonstrated in the application by 31.01.2024:


  • Minimum language level B1 in English for host institutions where English is the working language or
  • Minimum language level B1 in French or Spanish for host institutions where one of these two languages is the working language or
  • Minimum language level A2 in the working language for host institutions where neither English, French or Spanish applies.

    Notes on ZESS courses and examinations/ tests
  • A FlexNow printout as proof of registration for the ZESS language course examination in February 2024 will be accepted upon application. Proof of the examination result must then be submitted in the mobility portal by 28.02.2024 at the latest. upload.
  • Students applying for a stay in the summer semester 2025 can optionally provide the required proof by 31.07.2024. Proof of the examination result must then be submitted in the mobility portal by 31.07.2024 at the latest.upload.

  • General information: Failure to provide proof of language proficiency will be considered a missing requirement and will result in exclusion from the procedure. Please note that the language certificates to be provided are valid for the central application procedure at the University of Göttingen and not for the partner university.
