RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research is interdisciplinary and examines aspects about functions, community and processes in forest ecosystems with particular emphasis on carbon and nitrogen budgets in disturbed and undisturbed forests. My interests are focused on soil science (energy and matter fluxes), linkages between aboveground and belowground ecology, insect population dynamics in dependence on the climatic change, plant-herbivore interactions, insect outbreak patterns in different spatial perspectives, GIS, biochemistry of host tree defence, tree physiology and foliar chemistry. This research is focused on laboratory and field studies in forests ecosystems.
