Various techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry and histology including (immuno)staining of paraffin sections, light and fluorescence microscopy, DNA and RNA isolation, northern blotting, real-time PCR, cloning plasmids, PCR mutagenesis, luciferase assays, whole-exome-sequencing, and different cell culture techniques (transformation, transfection, generation of a stable human cell line).

SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Up to this point, I am interested in a wide range of research topics including neuroscience, signaling pathways, immunology as well as different sections in the field of genetics. I am especially fascinated by regulation of gene expression through miRNA interference, DNA methylation and histone modifications. My goal is to contribute to the understanding of human diseases and their treatment by research on DNA level.
