Welcome to the SAG Culture Collection order information page. We are delighted to inform you that all algae cultures available in our catalog can now be ordered. Visit our catalog at the SAG Database to explore the diversity of our algae cultures and find the right one for your project.

All orders for algae cultures are processed by our experienced technology transfer partner, MBM Sciencebridge GmbH. This new procedure allows us to handle your orders more efficiently and ensure compliance with current tax legislation.

MBM Sciencebridge acts as a service provider for the University of Göttingen, managing algae orders and inquiries from the initial request to contractual matters, invoicing, and accounting.

How to Order from MBM Science Bridge

Follow these steps to order SAG algae cultures and ensure an efficient process to receive your cultures as soon as possible.

Select Available Strains: Check our online database to see which strains are currently available from SAG.

Pricing and Conditions: Each culture is offered at a standard price of 165 Euros. Your order is subject to the terms of our Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). For more details on the ordering conditions, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions.

Submit Your Order: First, you must fully complete the digital order form. Then, send this form along with a description of the usage purpose, your digital or paper-based signature, and a company, institution, or department stamp to algae@sciencebridge.de. If you provide a signature on paper, please also include the digitally completed form along with the scanned document.
If you are a first-time customer, please consult the FAQ section for any additional information or evidence required.

Payment: Advance payment is not available. Algae are dispatched directly, and payment must be made in euros solely upon receipt of the invoice. The standard price for each culture is 165 Euros. The invoice, provided by MBM Sciencebridge, will reflect this amount and must be paid via bank transfer.

Shipping: We ship via Deutsche Post or FedEx. Delivery time depends on the distance to your location. We ship globally where possible. Customers should independently check the import regulations for their country and consult with the algae collection and Sciencebridge if necessary. We only ship well-grown algal starter cultures in test tube quantities.

Can I buy SAG cultures?: No, cultures are available under a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA), which includes specific restrictions such as the prohibition of redistribution or commercialization.
What are the limitations of use for SAG cultures?: SAG cultures come with restrictions including a prohibition on redistribution and commercialization. Licensing options are available for further use of most strains.
How are cultures shipped?: Cultures are shipped as starter cultures in test tube quantities without quantification of cell number/biomass. Shipments are made in compliance with our shipment policy, taking into account temperature variations and international restrictions.
How is payment processed?: Payments must be made exclusively in euros after receiving an invoice from MBM Sciencebridge. The standard price for each culture is 165 euros. Advance payments are not accepted, and payment must be made via bank transfer.
What if I'm a new customer?: New customers are required to fully complete the digital order form and submit it along with a description of the usage purpose, a digital or paper-based authorized signature, and a company, institution, or department stamp. Additional information verifying compliance with usage or handling standards is necessary. We reserve the right to ask new customers further questions regarding the intended use of the cultures.
What about the axenity of the strains?: Axenity, the state of the culture being free from other organisms, is not guaranteed. Our standard service does not include providing evidence or regular checks of axenity before shipment.
