I am interested in unraveling fundamental relationships between oxide physics and catalytic mechanisms that are relevant to both energy storage and conversion. I am especially interested in the reactions of oxygen evolution and reduction that are important both for improving technology and understanding nature. To achieve insight into these reactions, I combine concepts from physics and chemistry.
