Dr. Jördis Grabow

Jördis Grabow is a post-doctoral researcher at the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute and acting coordinator for applied research and consultancy. She studied Social Science and Sociology with a focus on Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Hannover and the University of Göttingen. Her research interest lies in Foucauldian dispositif analysis and its implications for social theory.

For her PhD at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, completed in October 2020, she focused on contemporary feminist practices of resistance and analyzed them using a dispositivist perspective. In it, she asks how resistance is constituted and how those question, attack, and change the real-effectual productions of the gender dispositif. Central to this is the concept of transformation, which is understood both as an internal, subject-related concept and as an external, social concept.
In her post-doctoral (habilitation) project, she will pursue this idea and investigate the connection between subject formations, resistances and transformation processes using the example of emancipatory resistant practices in East Germany.
