SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS
Understanding the molecular mechanisms used by nature to convert its blueprints to the final organism. That is, understanding when, why and how genes are transcribed in their development. To this end I am highly interested in the genetic and biochemical techniques used to display the regulative processes in a cell: reporter gene fusions, gene knockouts, protein and DNA blotting techniques and microscopic imaging. Furthermore, I am interested in model organisms of developmental biology.
