Fachgruppe Englisch

We, the Fachgruppe, are a group of voluntary SEP students who dedicate themselves to promote a welcoming and friendly environment at the department. This means that we help new students settle in at university by organising the freshers’ week, which includes several activities to socialise as well as a timetable consultation. We also organise the Christmas party in the winter semester and the summer party in the summer semester, where students, staff, lecturers and professors come together to enjoy a great evening with food, drinks and a mixed programme. Once a month (on a Wednesday), you can join us for an informal get-together, “Stammtisch”, where we have a drink, a chat and play games in a relaxed atmosphere. The exact time and place are always announced in our WhatsApp group.
Apart from that, we aim to strengthen the sense of community in the department. In case of problems/ conflicts, we act as a neutral third party to mediate between students and SEP staff whenever direct communication is not possible. Since we represent the student body on the departmental board, your comments, suggestions and criticisms are heard.
