SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS
In my opinion, it is fascinating that nature has developed a huge variety of enzymes that can catalyse almost any reaction highly effectively and in a controlled manner. For this reason, I would like to study the structure of enzymes and mechanisms of enzymatic catalysis in greater detail. I am, therefore, particularly interested in bio-inorganic chemistry, structural biology, and molecular enzymology as well as the use of enzymatic catalysis as a pattern for industrial applications in biotechnology. However, my interest is not limited to these fields. I would like to extend my knowledge by gaining experience in different research areas and I am looking forward to learning a variety of new methods.
