Dr. phil. Jennifer Dahmen Adkins
Dr Jennifer Dahmen-Adkins has been working as a senior researcher at the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute since March 2026, on behalf of the Lower Saxony State Working Group of Institutions for Women’s and Gender Studies (LAGEN). In this role, she is responsible for the scientific coordination of a consultancy service for research consortia, focusing on the integration of gender and diversity aspects into project proposals, which is currently being established. In doing so, she works closely with the office of the Lower Saxony Scientific Commission (WKN) in Hanover.
Prior to her current position, she was employed for eight years, from 2017 to 2025, as a senior researcher at the Chair of Sociology of Technology and Organisation within the Institute of Sociology at RWTH Aachen University. From March 2017 to October 2017, she was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society (IAS-STS) at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Technology, Work and Culture in Graz, Austria. Prior to this, from 2003 to 2017, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Wuppertal in the Department of Social and Educational Sciences and in the Equality Office.
Her research focuses on gender studies, intersectionality, and higher education and organisational research, with a particular emphasis on closely linking theory and practice. Her work also addresses the integration of gender and diversity perspectives into academia and research. She has extensive experience in EU-funded research and cooperation projects.
