Line Detection

This experiment asks you to draw a short line. The program then searches a database of satellite images for a contour that matches the painted line. The experiment does this by using line detection algorithms to find matches in the image databases.

How does Line Detection work?

Line detection is a central component of image processing. Algorithms are used to detect and highlight lines in images. Each pixel is analyzed, taking into account the surrounding pixels, to determine whether it forms a line with other pixels.
